Primary Responsibilities
- Captures and executes the site's quality assurance strategy to ensure high-quality product production aligned with applicable requirements and standards.
- Functions as the Management Representative for AS-9100 Quality Management System.
- Oversees the Quality Assurance Department, balancing the Voice of the Customer with business partnership.
Specific Tasks and Focus Areas
- Prepares for and oversees compliance audits of REDAR’s Quality Management System (Customer and 3rd Party).
- Manages customer returns and responds to non-conformances identified during 3rd Party audits.
- Develops and prioritizes activities for the Quality organization to achieve desired results and deadlines.
- Reviews and evaluates the department's accomplishments with the team, regularly reviewing department structure and staffing levels.
- Improves employee performance annually, identifies training needs, and communicates expectations and performance requirements.
- Manages employee development, sets goals, and provides feedback throughout the year.
- Ensures effective communication and balanced representation between the Voice of the Customer and business needs.
- Identifies and manages risks associated with decisions, promoting open discussion and fact-based decision-making.
Education And Experience
- Bachelor’s degree within a technical field may be considered.
- 10+ years of Quality Assurance management experience in a manufacturing environment, with preference for experience in rubber and/or composites fields.
- Minimum three (3) years of experience within DOD setting.
- ASQ Certified Manager of Quality/Organizational Excellence or Certified Quality Engineer required.
- In-depth knowledge of manufacturing process control, root cause determination, and corrective action.
- Experience creating and ensuring quality system documentation, including work instructions, departmental policies, and procedures are current and compliant.
- Experience implementing and maintaining a quality system certified to a recognized national or international standard (e.g., AS9100, ISO-9001, ISO-13485, IATF 16949).
