About the role
PS Seasoning is seeking a proactive, solutions-oriented Quality Assurance Manager to lead, strengthen, and continuously improve food safety and quality programs. This is a hands-on leadership role with daily plant floor presence and direct influence on company-wide quality performance. The ideal candidate brings deep GFSI experience and the confidence to lead audits, strengthen systems, and elevate teams.
What You'll Do
- Oversee the development, implementation, and maintenance of food safety and quality programs including FDA Preventive Controls (FSMA), SQF, HACCP, GMPs, and Allergen Control
- Partner with the Regulatory & Compliance Manager to ensure adherence to FDA regulations and PS Seasoning standards
- Lead all customer audits, SQF audits, regulatory inspections, and internal audits
- Drive SQF internal audit programs, identify gaps, and implement corrective actions
- Identify opportunities to improve products, processes, and cost efficiencies
- Develop plant-specific QC metrics to measure performance and uncover improvement opportunities
- Independently initiate and lead process improvement and cost savings projects
- Ensure compliance with customer requirements while maintaining best-in-class industry standards
- Maintain daily presence on the plant floor to ensure compliance with quality and food safety standards
- Audit sanitation programs and verify effective execution
- Provide oversight, coaching, and development for Quality Control team members
- Lead onboarding and ongoing food safety and quality training for employees at all levels
- Develop and deliver practical training programs for line employees, supervisors, and production leads
- Maintain and enforce all food safety, employee safety, and quality policies
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree (required)
- 7+ years of experience in GFSI-certified food manufacturing facilities
- 2–3 years in a quality leadership role
- Current hands-on experience with FSMA Preventive Controls, HACCP, GMPs, and SQF or other GFSI certification scheme
- HACCP certification required; PCQI and SQF Practitioner certifications preferred
- Strong computer proficiency (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Proven ability to work cross-functionally and influence teams
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and adapt in a fast-paced environment
- Self-driven, independent decision-maker who thrives with minimal supervision
- Spanish bilingual skills a plus
