Quality Assurance Manager

About the role
The Quality Assurance Manager supervises and leads a QA team, develops and implements quality assurance policies, procedures, and standards to ensure compliance with FDA, company, and customer standards for food quality and safety. The role involves conducting audits and inspections to identify defects, process inefficiencies, or compliance issues, and implementing corrective and preventive actions. Responsibilities include monitoring production processes, product testing, analyzing quality data, and reporting to senior management. The manager participates in customer and regulatory audits and collaborates with senior management to address complaints or product recalls. Cross-functional collaboration with Corporate Quality Assurance, Plant Management, and staff is essential to improve overall product safety and quality.
Requirements
- Five years of quality management experience in a food or beverage manufacturing environment.
- Above-average math and problem-solving skills.
- Minimum of two years of supervisory experience.
- Knowledge of industry standards, FSMA, and GMPs.
- Current or previous certifications as PCQI, HACCP Coordinator, and/or GFSI Practitioner.
- Working knowledge of lab methodologies and environmental monitoring.
- Excellent documentation and communication skills.
- Willingness and ability to walk and stand for extended periods.
- Willingness and ability to climb and work at various levels in the facility using stairs, ladders, and elevated platforms.
- Ability to determine detail and distinguish colors.
- Willingness and ability to wear required PPE (Personal Protective Equipment).
- Willingness and ability to travel when needed.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a scientific discipline.
