Quality Assurance Manager

About the role

The Quality Manager leads the Quality Department and oversees the Quality Management System (QMS) for a metals manufacturing facility in Columbia City, Indiana. This role ensures product quality, maintains ISO 9001 compliance, drives continuous improvement initiatives, and supports manufacturing process improvements.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Quality Department and maintain the site's ISO 9001 Quality Management System.
• Drive continuous improvement projects to enhance product quality and manufacturing processes.
• Lead root cause investigations using 8D methodology and implement corrective actions.
• Analyze quality data using Minitab and other statistical tools.
• Manage customer complaints, internal and external audits, and quality documentation.
• Partner with Operations, Engineering, and Production to improve quality performance.
• Develop and monitor quality metrics and ensure compliance with customer and regulatory requirements.
• Supervise and develop quality team members.

Requirements

• Advanced degree in Metallurgy, Materials Science, or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of manufacturing experience.
• 3–5 years of metallurgical or quality management experience.
• Experience with copper metallurgy.
• Knowledge of ISO 9001 and 8D problem-solving methodology.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Minitab.
• Strong communication, leadership, and analytical skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Six Sigma Green or Black Belt.
• CQE or CQM certification.
• Experience with IATF 16949 and/or AS9100.
• Supervisory and audit experience.
