Quality Assurance Manager

About the role

The Project Quality Assurance Manager oversees the quality assurance processes in a multi-billion-dollar nuclear facility construction project. Reporting to the Project Manager and with technical input from the Director of Quality for Nuclear Projects, this role ensures compliance with company policies, contractual requirements, and regulatory standards.

Responsibilities

• Manage a team of QA professionals to oversee all phases of facility construction and Title III engineering support
• Develop and administer the QA program to meet project needs
• Provide independent oversight of quality developments affecting project operations
• Plan and execute formal audit and surveillance programs to ensure compliance with the QA program and regulatory requirements
• Train project-level staff on the QA program from planning to closeout
• Report compliance issues to the Project Leadership Team and NPC Senior management

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality Assurance, Quality Management, Business, or a related technical field, with a minimum of 10 years of progressively responsible quality assurance experience; or 15 years of applicable quality assurance experience in lieu of a degree
• At least 5 years of leadership experience managing and directing quality assurance personnel and programs in a supervisory or management capacity
• 15 or more years of total experience, with at least 5 years in the nuclear industry
• Experience on projects in an engineering design and construction environment
• Advanced technical knowledge of engineering, procurement, and construction practices
• Advanced experience participating in and supporting quality assessments, surveillances, audits, and cause analysis
• Effective communication skills, including editing work for accuracy and clarity
• Strong technical writing skills
• Good organizational skills and ability to manage complex quality oversight of projects with multiple work phases, locations, and distributed resources
• Demonstrated understanding and implementation of QA regulations, standards, and guidelines including 10 CFR 830 Subpart A, DOE Order 414.1D, and ASME/NQA-1, Quality Assurance Requirements for Nuclear Facility Applications (2008/2009 addenda)

$150,000 - $190,000
