Williams-Sonoma’s Supply Chain includes over 4,000 full-time associates across 14.5 million square feet of small parcel, personalization, furniture, and manufacturing space in the domestic US. Our agile and capable distribution network consists of:

• Large package/furniture distribution centers in Southern California, Northern California, Texas, Georgia, and New Jersey totaling 9.2 million square feet, plus 1.2 million square feet of standalone final-mile furniture hubs.
• Small package eCommerce distribution centers in Mississippi and Arizona totaling 3.2 million square feet, with over 1,000 full-time associates and 1,500 seasonal/temporary associates in Mississippi.
• Sutter Street Manufacturing upholstery factories in North Carolina and Mississippi, with over 1,400 full-time employees producing approximately $900 million to $1 billion in sales of upholstered furniture.
• A Transportation Department for Ocean, Air, Trucking, and Rail with over 30 professionals in Memphis, TN.
• 700 associates in our Sourcing offices across 10 countries in Asia and Europe, including China, Vietnam, Singapore, India, Italy, and Turkey.

About the Role

The Quality Assurance Inspector ensures daily departmental goals are met and assists in inspecting all upholstered pieces and slipcovers produced by the assigned upholstery line before sending them for further processing. The primary focus is Final Inspection on the weekday shift at the Booneville, MS location.

Responsibilities

• Practice safe work habits and adhere to Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) standards throughout the facility.
• Adhere to company policies with a positive attitude and willingness to assist others in the department, facility, and organization.
• Clean up covers behind upholsterers by cutting strings and detailing pieces before inspection.
• Perform tasks promptly and with high standards to meet departmental and facility production goals using documented Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
• Ensure all product has consistent ½ inch seams and meets or exceeds quality requirements for the style as specified by Sutter Street Manufacturing.
• Verify that tickets, fabric, cushions, and pillows match the PRD while performing tasks safely, correctly, and efficiently.
• Inspect overall appearance, including checking seams, stitches, fabric defects, cushion corners, welt, and filling to ensure no lumps or imperfections.
• Maximize department productivity while ensuring quality and complying with all safety policies.
• Ensure all decorative labels are in the correct location.
• Suggest improvements to current techniques and processes.
• Maintain overall cleanliness of the area throughout the shift.
• Scan tickets and load inspected pieces onto the conveyor belt for the next processing step if no repairs are needed.

Requirements

• At least 1 year of inspection experience in quality operations in upholstered furniture.
• Good math and reading skills.
• Experience reading and understanding production tickets.
• Ability to interpret simple instructions in a production manual.
• Ability to perform multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment to meet delivery requirements.
• Good oral and written communication skills; ability to read, write, and understand English.
• Ability to keep accurate records and follow documented procedures and standards.
• Strong problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work effectively and cooperatively as part of a team with associates and managers.
• Excellent time-management skills, including the ability to work independently with little supervision.
• Strong sense of urgency and time management to meet established deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent.
• Basic computer skills.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand for up to 10-hour periods and bend/twist at the waist and knees to inspect upholstered pieces and slipcovers.
• Ability to see patterns on fabrics and color variations.
• Must be able to lift 20-60 pounds frequently as needed.
