Principal Duties and Responsibilities
- Perform process inspections and show records for each process running and quality of products produced.
- Show records for each process running and quality of products produced.
- Communicate any special instructions or information on quality issues to the incoming Quality Auditors and/or Dept. Managers/Supervisors.
- Work independently to manage and measure results and present project summaries.
- Establish sorting limits/guidelines, in addition to monitoring sorting processes and the proper handling of nonconforming products.
- Give disposition whether to scrap, sort, or accept materials in question of quality conformance.
- Pull samples from production orders requiring customer samples or for internal use.
- Responsible for assisting with the calibration of all testing equipment.
- Perform, evaluate, organize various specified testing of products and maintain the quality records as defined by the department procedures.
- Maintain quality records by filing and data entry into the computer.
- Absorb and assist with safe practice/housekeeping (AIB/GMP) and training processes within the organization.
- Absorb and assist with the maintenance of the quality plan and procedures to facilitate accomplishments of the company’s business plan objectives and goals.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Basic computer skills (i.e. Word, Excel, etc.)
- Detail oriented with ability to organize
- Must possess leadership skills, have the ability to multi-task and have strong communication skills.
- Proficient in data collection and compilation to use Microsoft Word and Excel and ability to generate quality graphs, trend analysis and maintain records.
- Ability to use and maintain test equipment and calibration
Education and Experience
- High School/GED diploma
- Experience in Statistical Process Control
- Minimum 3 years of quality experience in a manufacturing setting
- Basic math skills
Working Conditions
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Must be willing/able to work hours outside of regular shift and overtime as requested
- Required to have color differential skills (not colorblind)
Safe Quality Food Responsibilities for all employees
- Follow all Plant rules, Processes, Hygiene, and Allergens procedures, related to production of Safe Quality Foods.
- Report to person of authority to record any potentially unsafe conditions which may result in unsafe foods or noncompliance to SQF related procedures.
- Participate in SQF Root Cause and Corrective Actions (from customer complaints, SQF audits, validation, and verification activities) as required.
- Follow all procedures related to producing Safe Quality Foods (SQF).
- Report any potentially unsafe SQF conditions or customer complaints to a person of authority to record and/or correct the situation.
