Quality Assurance Engineer

Responsibilities

• Plans, directs, and executes activities pertaining to development, application and maintenance of quality management system standards for McGard/LDM processes, materials and products.
• Ensures the achievement of continuous improvement within area of expertise, as well as areas of business in order to remain at the forefront of meeting Company objectives, thus proactively satisfying customers.
• Completes and maintains required safety classes, trainings, and certifications within the specific position/department.
• Aware of relevance and importance of activities and how they contribute to quality objectives.
• Maintains regularly scheduled shifts, works overtime & weekends as needed.
• Complies with IATF/ISO procedures, as applicable.
• Maintains qualitative and quantitative standards for the position and department.
• Develops procedures for inspection and testing criteria, including Control Plans and Process Flows.
• Leads continuous improvement projects and initiatives.
• Works with suppliers to ensure their quality management system meets expectations.
• Assists and mentors suppliers with the development of corrective actions and root cause development.
• Trains QA Technicians and provides training on quality concepts, problem solving tools, and quality management systems.
• Coordinates/assists with customer audits and visits, works directly with customers on quality related issues.

Requirements

• Ability to communicate effectively in English, both written and orally.
• B.S. in Industrial/Manufacturing or Mechanical Engineering or related curriculum preferred.
• Three (3) years minimum experience in a quality related position.
• ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) a plus.
• IATF/ISO and APQP experience preferred.
• Advanced Excel skills.
• Minitab experience.
