About the role
The Quality Assurance Coordinator plays a key role in supporting food safety, product recall, and supplier compliance efforts across PFG. This position coordinates recall-related activities, tracks compliance requirements, supports reporting and documentation, and partners with internal teams, suppliers, and operating companies to help ensure food safety and regulatory standards are met.
This is a food safety and product recall coordination role within the food distribution industry. It is not a software QA, engineering QA, testing, or IT quality assurance position.

Reporting to: Director, Senior Quality Assurance
Responsibilities
- Support food safety programs, product recalls, supplier compliance, and quality initiatives across a national food distribution network.
- Coordinate product critical product events.
- Communicate with suppliers, customers, government agencies, and internal departments.
- Critical product events cost recovery functions.
- Organize and maintain critical product event documents, files, and records.
- Coordinate PFG supplier approval program compliance ensuring supplier load compliance and Environmental Social Governance documents via the Share-ify system.
- Overnight travel for training, audits, or product quality assessment testing at PFG OpCos or industry events.
- Manage the distribution of PFG compliance documents to customers who request them.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Comply with all policies and standards.
Requirements
- 0-6 months experience in Distribution Center Food Service Operations, Quality Assurance, Research & Development, Food Production/Operations, Supply Chain, or related discipline.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines simultaneously.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently in a fully remote environment.
- Comfortable interacting with suppliers, customers, and operating companies.
- Comfortable handling large volumes of email and requests during urgent situations.
- Overnight travel: ability to independently travel as needed, without restriction, by all modes of transportation, including car, plane, or train.
- Must be available to work overtime, including occasional evenings, weekends, holidays, and on-call assignments as business needs require. Recall events may require after-hours support.
Pay
$24-$26/hour
