About the role
The Quality Assurance Auditor monitors the effectiveness of quality systems in our Customer Fulfillment Center (CFC) locations. This role ensures process control, error reduction, and alignment with customer feedback to uphold MSC’s commitment to quality and service.
Responsibilities
- Conduct statistical sampling of Warehouse processes to monitor effectiveness of Quality systems.
- Report findings and make recommendations to management for error reduction.
- Alert management when indicators point to loss of process control; recommend corrective and preventative actions to eliminate root causes.
- Perform process surveillance, including but not limited to:
- Outbound packages
- Bin integrity
- Picking error levels
- Inbound totes
- Receiving process
- Conduct field studies of process compliance (e.g., proper credit coding, HAZMAT procedures).
- Correlate internal quality measures with customer feedback to ensure alignment.
- Foster MSC’s culture and mission throughout the company.
- Temporarily re-assign to other functions to meet customer service requirements as needed.
- Participate in special projects and perform additional duties as required.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Minimum of two years quality assurance experience in an industrial distribution environment or equivalent work experience.
- Knowledge of TQM concepts and basic quality tools.
- Proficiency with RF systems and basic computer literacy (Excel, Word, AS 400).
- Certification or experience operating PIT/Equipment, which may include:
- Order Picker
- Swing Reach (Turret)
- Reach Truck
- Pacer
- Walkie
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Knowledge of DOT-regulated material handling procedures.
- Basic tool knowledge and ability to perform measurements using scale, tape measure, caliper, etc.
- Familiarity with packing and picking procedures.
Physical Requirements
- Bending to lift items from the floor and racks.
- Lifting items between 25 and 50 pounds.
- Ability to operate at heights up to 50 feet.
- Ability to stand for prolonged periods.
Other Requirements
- Ability to travel up to 5% of the time.
- Valid state driver’s license may be required.
- Must be currently authorized to work in the United States; sponsorship is not available for this position.
Pay
Starting at $15.53 - $24.43 per hour, depending on candidate location, experience, and peer pay equity.
Schedule
Monday - Friday, 9:00 am - 6:00 pm.
