About the role

The MiTEAM Quality Assurance Analyst plays a vital role within MDHHS by conducting continuous quality improvement (CQI) activities across assigned field offices. This position involves compiling and analyzing data, performing case reviews, conducting interviews and observations to assess staff compliance with departmental policies, and fidelity to the child welfare case practice model. The analyst supports the implementation and sustainability of Michigan’s trauma-informed MiTEAM Practice Model, which emphasizes core competencies such as teaming, engagement, assessment, and mentoring. The role focuses on using data insights to inform local office strategic planning and enhance service quality for children and families involved in MDHHS programs. The analyst will collaborate with local staff and management to identify opportunities for compliance improvement and service excellence, leading targeted initiatives to positively impact outcomes for children and families.

Responsibilities

• Perform data collection, compilation, and analysis to support CQI activities
• Conduct case reviews, interviews, and observations to assess compliance with MDHHS policies and fidelity to the MiTEAM Practice Model
• Assist local staff and managers in generating and analyzing data for strategic planning and quality improvement
• Lead specific local office tasks aimed at improving service quality for children and families
• Support the implementation of trauma-informed case practices aligned with the MiTEAM model
• Participate in statewide CQI initiatives and coordinate efforts across offices
• Prepare reports and presentations to communicate findings and recommendations
• Provide guidance and support to staff for continuous improvement activities
• Maintain accurate documentation of CQI activities and outcomes

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in any major
• Departmental Analyst 9: No specific experience required
• Departmental Analyst 10: At least one year of professional experience
• Departmental Analyst P11: At least two years of professional experience, including one year at the intermediate (10) level in state service
• Ability to analyze data and generate reports
• Strong understanding of child welfare policies and trauma-informed practices
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Proficiency in data compilation and review techniques
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
• Flexibility to work in Baraga, Houghton, and Keweenaw Counties, with potential for remote or hybrid work arrangements
