Quality Assembler

About the role

Steel Craft Technologies is seeking a quality assembler for their Grand Rapids, MI plant. The ideal candidate should have 1-2 years of experience in quality or assembling work, or experience in the tool and die trade. Candidates with a strong work ethic and willingness to learn are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

• Deburr parts as needed
• Complete any offline work with hand tools, drill press, saw, etc.
• Complete quality checks to ensure features are in tolerance
• Assembly
• Packaging for shipping
• Load/unload trucks for shipping & receiving
• Maintain appropriate tools
• Maintain current on tool calibration
• Aid with a wide variety of shop tasks as requested
• Keep work area clean
• Follow all safety rules and report unsafe work conditions to management
• Maintain regular attendance at work during scheduled work hours

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Ability to follow instructions
• Ability to complete tasks in a timely manner
• Willingness to be trained as necessary

Qualifications

• Experience with running a drill press and saw
• Experience with deburring
• General understanding of machinery

Skills

• Full use of all limbs
• Read and speak English
• Ability to lift 40 pounds
• Sit (or stand) for long periods of time
• Use motorized equipment (i.e. forklift)
• Use hands and fingers to handle, control, or feel objects, tools, or controls
