Quality/ASME Code Engineer

About the role

Work in all areas of the facility to ensure quality metrics are reported and maintained. Maintaining corrective actions, calibration, certification in ASME and UL 1450 will also be areas of responsibility. This person will work closely with Product Engineering, Manufacturing, Purchasing, Distribution, and External Customers.

Responsibilities

  • Maintaining ASME Code Certification and UL/CSA compliance
  • Maintaining the Gage and Instrument Calibration Program throughout the facility
  • Assisting in daily quality issues that impact production or new products
  • Analyze and report quality metrics to management
  • Foster Supplier and Customer Relations and generate Corrective Actions as directed
  • Responsible for Quality System Maintenance
  • Develop or assist in Root cause analysis and implementation of corrective action for process related concerns
  • Aid in establishing, implementing and maintaining the quality management system
  • Continually improve QA receiving inspection process and procedures
  • Ensure timely resolution of supplier failure, corrective actions and preventive actions
  • Manage suppliers’ performance and conduct audits
  • Create and maintain company quality documentation, such as quality manuals, quality procedures, etc.
  • Interface with Engineering and Operations to ensure transfer to Production of new products are in accordance with approved data
  • Support the Quality Inspectors to ensure that products and processes comply with the relevant requirements of the quality management system
  • Conduct audits, including closing out audit findings, creating audits finding reports and determining proper corrective and preventive actions
  • Analyze failure, corrective and preventive action to respond to customer complaints
  • Prepare QA reports

Qualifications

  • Ability to meet attendance standards
  • Ability to read and understand written instructions, manuals, and correspondence
  • Highly motivated, well-organized
  • Maintain high personal standards of quality
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent problem-solving and team motivational skills
  • Flexible and adaptable to changes in the work environment
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and work with a large variety of individuals
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Experience in Six Sigma
  • Lean Manufacturing experience a plus
  • Position requires travel both domestically and internationally
