Quality and Risk, Manager
Full-time, day shift position located at Mercy Fitzgerald.
About the Role
The Quality and Risk Manager coordinates and facilitates hospital regulatory compliance, ensuring the highest quality and patient safety activities. This role oversees Joint Commission Accreditation for the hospital and acts as a consultant for all certification, accreditation, and regulatory programs.
Responsibilities
- Supports and oversees the Quality team and Patient Safety/Risk Management to achieve zero harm activities.
- Maintains compliance with organizations such as Leapfrog and IBM Watson that impact quality and patient safety.
- Utilizes quality methodology to educate staff and departments in continuous performance improvement and regulatory compliance.
- Works with and oversees the Quality Department to collect, track, and analyze data, including action plans using Lean Methodology to improve outcomes and compliance.
- Participates in quality rounds and co-chairs Quality/Safety Committees.
- Reports data as required for regulatory programs.
- Ensures all state regulatory activities and compliance are maintained.
- Manages and directs day-to-day regulatory compliance activities such as regulatory rounds.
- Engages in performance improvement projects to support Mercy Fitzgerald priorities in fulfilling the vision and mission, leading to regulatory compliance, high-quality organization, patient safety, and operational excellence.
Requirements
- RN Licensure in the State of PA.
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (required).
- BLS certification (required).
- Master’s Degree preferred in nursing, business, or healthcare.
- CPHQ Certification preferred.
- Minimum of five years of acute care hospital clinical care experience.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Demonstrated presentation and facilitation skills.
- Ability to work independently and on a team.
- Problem-solving, critical thinking, and priority-setting skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, database management, spreadsheets, internet, and email.
Schedule
Flexible FTE options ranging from 0.4 FTE (16 hours weekly) up to 1.0 FTE (40 hours weekly).
