About The Role
The Oncology Institute (NASDAQ: TOI), founded in 2007, is dedicated to advancing oncology through specialized, value-based cancer care delivered in the community setting. Serving a population of approximately 1.9 million patients, TOI includes clinical trials, transfusions, and other advanced care models. With over 180 employed and affiliate clinicians and 100+ clinics across five states, TOI aims to improve oncology care. This role plays a crucial part in ensuring high-quality, safe care for patients.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Lead clinical quality improvement projects to address care gaps for TOI's patient population, focusing on preventive screenings.
- Support patient safety efforts by reviewing adverse event reports, conducting root cause analysis, and collaborating with patient care teams to revise protocols.
- Perform routine site audits to ensure adherence to patient safety best practices.
- Collaborate with the ASCO QOPI Quality Nursing Specialist on ASCO QOPI quality measures.
- Develop and deliver education and training materials for the nursing team on patient safety and quality improvement tools and practices.
- Facilitate project workshops with patient care and operations teams, discussing quality improvement and patient safety efforts.
- Track, measure, and maintain comprehensive project documentation for all assigned projects, reporting progress to the Quality Manager.
- Respond to quality improvement inquiries from various stakeholders.
Required Experience, Education, and/or Training
- Bachelor’s degree in healthcare, nursing, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in quality improvement, healthcare, or a related field.
- Lean/Six Sigma Certification preferred.

- Demonstrated ability to manage, organize, and prioritize workload effectively.
- Knowledge of industry standards and quality improvement principles.
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail and a sense of ownership.
- Demonstrated analytical skills and ability to assess performance against metrics.
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Critical thinking and ability to identify root causes and implement creative solutions.
- Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook).
Physical Working Requirements

Pay
$75,000 - $90,000 USD
