QUALITY AND COMPLIANCE SPECIALIST

About the Role

Abraxas Youth and Family Services is seeking a Quality and Compliance Specialist to join our team at Woodridge Interventions. In this role, you will be responsible for coordinating licensing inspections, contractual reviews, and accreditation surveys while ensuring our facility meets all regulatory standards. You'll serve as the HIPAA Compliance Officer and play a vital part in maintaining our commitment to high-quality care.

What You'll Do

• Prepare for and coordinate all licensing inspections, contractual reviews, and accreditation surveys
• Act as internal liaison and contact person for all licensing, contractual, and accreditation representatives
• Coordinate development of and submit all action plans to address licensing, contractual, and accreditation citations or areas of non-compliance; monitor implementation of action plans to verify compliance
• Review revisions to policies to verify they meet licensing, contractual, and accreditation requirements; maintain policy and procedure manual for the facility
• Function as the HIPAA Compliance Officer for the facility
• Prepare meeting agendas, coordinate meetings, maintain meeting minutes, and develop other documentation related to on-going monitoring and evaluation of the program
• Collect and maintain data for licensing, contractual and accreditation standards and performance improvement
• Prepare reports, data displays, charts, graphs, and other illustrations to support data collection, data analysis, and performance improvement
• Provide technical assistance and education to facility staff on licensing, contractual, and accreditation standards, including as-needed in-service training regarding implementation of standards
• Support the Abraxas philosophy and mission and promote the Seven Key Principles of care

Qualifications

• Associate's degree or 60 college credits in social sciences, healthcare or related field and five years related experience OR Bachelor's degree in social sciences, healthcare or related field and three years related experience
• Knowledge of the principles and use of tools used for data collection, data analysis, and performance improvement
• Knowledge of applicable licensing (e.g., DHS, OHS, TDFPS), contractual (e.g., MD DJS, CO DYC), accreditation (e.g., JC) standards
• Knowledge of the principles and practices related to the residential treatment of delinquent and dependent youth
• Ability to formulate and/or revise policies that meet licensing, contractual, and accreditation standards
• Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in written form, with a diverse group of people including regulatory agency representatives, employees, clients, governing body members, and the general public

Additional Requirements

• At least twenty-one (21) years of age
• Must have a valid Driver's License
• Physical exam that includes TB and drug testing
• Must pass both federal and state background checks which screen for crimes including, but not limited to drug related crimes, violent crimes, sexual abuse, domestic violence, child abuse, and repeated misdemeanors
• Satisfactory completion of background screening and applicable pre-employment checks, including but not limited to employment and/or personal reference and driving records
• Ability to work with computers and the necessary software typically used by the department
