Trinity Services is seeking a Qualified Mental Health Professional (QMHP or Therapist) to provide services as part of a Living Room program in Grundy County, IL. The QMHP will partner with a Recovery Support Specialist to respond in person to mental health-related crisis visits, playing a key role in assessment, support, and collaborative action planning.
About the Role
- Provides support to individuals experiencing mental health crises and assists the team with clinical issues.
- Conducts screenings and assessments, including SUDS, Columbia SSRS, SUD screening, IM + CAT, and others as clinically appropriate.
- Facilitates the development of safety and recovery plans tailored to participants' strengths, goals, and barriers.
- Completes required documentation, including assessments and progress notes.
- Participates in daily upkeep of the Living Room (e.g., cleaning, laundry, food preparation).
- Attends seminars, meetings, and trainings to apply best practices.
- Participates in a 24-hour on-call rotation and may float to Joliet or Grundy Living Room sites as needed.
- Conducts outreach and connects participants to community resources.
- Performs other duties as assigned based on program needs.
Requirements
- Master’s Degree in Psychology, Social Work, or a related field.
- Bilingual in Spanish preferred but not required.
- Valid driver’s license and current automobile liability insurance, including uninsured motorist coverage.
- Ability to pass pre-employment background checks.
Skills and Abilities
- Proficiency in computer-based service documentation.
- Strong teaching skills, non-judgmental personality, and empathic listening.
- Experience in crisis intervention and knowledge of involuntary petitions as clinically needed.
Physical Demands
- Ability to lift over 40 pounds from floor to waist unassisted.
- Ability to push and pull 75 pounds.
- Ability to complete deep knee squats and push wheelchairs up to 200 pounds.
- Capable of remaining stationary for prolonged periods (standing or sitting).
- Regularly required to stand, sit, talk, hear, and use hands/fingers for computer and telephone operation.
- Physical activities may include driving, balancing, pulling, pushing, standing, climbing, grasping, stooping, crouching, crawling, kneeling, reaching, lifting, and repetitive motion.
Pay
$61,000–$65,000 per year.
Schedule
3:00 PM–11:00 PM, including rotation weekends and holidays.
