Qualified Mental Health Professional

About the Role

We are seeking a Qualified Mental Health Professional (QMHP) to provide Medicaid-aligned behavioral health services to children, adolescents, and families in Temple, Texas, and surrounding Bell County communities. This is a 1099 independent contractor engagement, not employment. Spanish-speaking candidates are strongly preferred to support Spanish-speaking clients and families.

You will provide direct QMHP services in community-based settings while meeting applicable payer, documentation, and compliance requirements. You will exercise independent professional judgment within the authorized scope and standards of QMHP service delivery.

Responsibilities

• Conduct bio-psychosocial assessments, when assigned and within the individual’s qualifications and authorized role.
• Deliver authorized skills training and development, targeted case management, crisis intervention, and medication training and support services.
• Develop and update crisis and safety plans as appropriate and authorized.
• Coordinate with caregivers, care partners, and treatment team members as needed.
• Provide face-to-face services in approved settings, including clients’ homes, schools, McHur Care offices, and community locations.
• Complete timely and accurate documentation required for billing and compliance, including progress notes, service records, and related documentation.
• Maintain professional communication with clients, families, schools, and community partners.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in psychology, social work, counseling, sociology, human services, or another qualifying related field.
• Qualified as, or eligible to qualify as, a QMHP-CS under applicable Texas requirements.
• Experience supporting children, adolescents, and families is preferred.
• Spanish-speaking or bilingual English/Spanish candidates are strongly preferred.
• Comfortable working independently in a field-based service model.
• Strong written documentation skills and the ability to meet required timelines.
• Professional, empathetic communication with clients, families, and community partners.
• Reliable transportation and the ability to travel throughout the Temple-area service region.

Pay

Compensation is governed by the Contractor Agreement and applicable Compensation Plan.

• Base Service Fee — Billable Work: $25 to $28 per approved billable hour. Services must be properly documented, coded, eligible for submission, and approved for payment.
• Monthly Accelerator Enhancements: An additional $4 to $9 per billable hour may be available based on total monthly billable hours under a tiered accelerator model.
• Mileage Support Payment — If Offered: A flat monthly mileage-support payment may be available based on verified eligible business mileage, ranging from $100 to $800 per month. Normal commuting is excluded.
• Ramp-Up Minimum Pay — Optional and Time-Limited: Up to 45 days of ramp-up support may be available when applicable eligibility requirements are met.
• Other Incentives — If Applicable: A $50 client recruitment bonus may be available for each new client enrolled with confirmed active insurance coverage.

Pay Schedule — Semi-Monthly: Services performed from the 1st through the 15th are paid on the 22nd. Services performed from the 16th through the final day of the month are paid on the 7th.

Schedule

This is a field-based role with services delivered in homes, schools, offices, and other approved community settings. Reliable transportation is required for travel between approved service locations in Temple, Texas, and surrounding Bell County communities.

Contractor Information

This is a 1099 independent contractor opportunity. Employee benefits are not provided. Non-billable administrative time, travel time, and meetings are not separately compensated unless expressly authorized under the Compensation Plan or a signed written statement of work. Trainings and meetings may be offered, with participation generally voluntary unless otherwise specified in writing.

Earnings are performance-driven and depend on authorized billable service delivery and the quality, accuracy, and timeliness of required documentation.
