About the Role
This position performs the functions of a non-certified care attendant with medication administration, providing service and routine assistance to residents according to standard procedures and established State and Federal regulations. The role focuses on ensuring the safety, comfort, and well-being of residents, including administering medication in accordance with a physician’s written orders.
Responsibilities
- Assists residents with daily activities, including bathing, dressing, and grooming.
- Reminds residents of scheduled activities, social events, meals, and the need to get dressed.
- Assists with medication supervision and/or administration based on training, certification, or licensure as per state regulations.
- Assists with laundry and dietary tasks, including serving meals, delivering meal trays, and observing residents during meals.
- Serves supplemental nourishment and snacks as needed.
- Observes residents’ physical and mental condition, reporting changes to the assisted living director.
- Responds to residents’ call signals, conducts safety rounds, and uses independent judgment to assist residents or summon additional help.
- Provides support, comfort, and socialization opportunities to residents, encouraging independence and participation in activities.
- Assists activities staff with daily programming, including evening and weekend events.
- Transports residents to and from meals and activities, including wheelchair assistance.
- Assists in the admission, orientation, discharge, and transfer of residents.
- Cross-trained to work across all levels of care, including Assisted Living and Assisted Living Memory Care.
- Performs all other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or Equivalent (required).
- Medication Assistant training based on state regulations (required).
- Entry-level experience.

- Ability to remain calm and composed in challenging situations.
- Knowledge of prioritizing tasks and managing schedules effectively.
- Knowledge of privacy regulations and maintaining patient confidentiality.
- Ability to build trust with clients and their families.
Physical Requirements
- Sufficient physical ability and mobility to work in an office/community setting.
- Ability to stand or sit for prolonged periods.
- Ability to occasionally stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, reach, and twist.
- Ability to lift, carry, push, and/or pull light to moderate amounts of weight up to 50 lbs.
- Engaging in repetitive movements of wrists, hands, and fingers (e.g., typing or writing).
- Clarity of vision for near visual acuity (e.g., working with small objects or reading small print, including computer use).
- Clarity of vision at 20 feet or more to recognize features.
- Peripheral vision to observe areas up and down or to the right or left while eyes are fixed on a given point.
Pay
A reasonable estimate of the pay range for this position is $18.99 - $25.27 per hour. Factors influencing pay include job-related qualifications, experience, skills, education, geographic location, and internal/external equity considerations.
