Qualified Counsellor

About the role

Sedgemoor Manor School is seeking a Qualified Therapist Counsellor to join their Therapy team. The ideal candidate should be enthusiastic, caring, and passionate about supporting young people with autism or similar diagnoses.

Responsibilities

• Join a multi-disciplinary team, working closely with Speech and Language Therapists and other professionals.
• Report to the Therapy Manager and manage a caseload, implementing individual EHCP/treatment plans.
• Provide CBT experience or knowledge, manage caseload, and coordinate with school and support staff.
• Complete CPD annually and attend regular supervision.
• Undertake assessments, plan and deliver interventions, maintain records, and participate in training.
• Engage children and young people in counselling sessions and provide ad-hoc sessions as needed.
• Work in partnership with a diverse team of Therapy and educational specialists to deliver tailored support.
• Participate in the induction program and network with Therapists across other Aspris sites.

Requirements

• Current BACP, UKCP or equivalent accrediting body membership.
• Experience in a special needs environment or newly qualified.
• Knowledge of CBT desirable.
• Ability to maintain close working relationships with school, teaching, and support staff.
• Compliance with school policies, procedures, and statutory regulations.
