Position Summary

The Qualified Behavioral Health Provider (QBHP) establishes a supportive client relationship with the goal of empowering clients and their support network to actively participate in mental health treatment. The QBHP will provide clinical interventions to reinforce, practice, and model therapeutic techniques and treatments as directed by the Mental Health Professional (MHP). The QBHP is not responsible for supervision of other staff.

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree from an accredited institution of higher learning is preferred; High school diploma or GED required.
• One year of experience as a QBHP or mental health associate or the equivalent work experience in a mental health field is preferred.
• Case management in behavioral health of 1 year preferred.
• Knowledge of motivational interviewing, engagement strategies, co-occurring disorders, stages of change theory, and community resources.
• The ability to relate with effectiveness to the public, the patient, and the health care providers of the health center.
• The ability to effectively perform several duties of the department and the ability to organize and achieve goals in a busy setting as well as effectively communicate with internal and external stakeholders.

Essential Functions

• Completes the necessary related documentation to the above-described duties.
• Performs specific job tasks related to job as needed or as requested.
• Serves as part of the client's treatment team.
• Completes the necessary training to become certified as a Qualified Behavioral Health Provider (QBHP).
• Provides professionally appropriate transportation as necessary to accomplish treatment goals.
• Makes necessary referrals and serves as liaison with other agencies.
• Provides timely documentation to support services rendered and provides written reports as required by other agencies (i.e., DCFS, legal system, etc.).
• Builds support network around client by working with authorized collateral sources such as parents, teachers, or other community agencies as appropriate.
• Provides clinical supportive interventions according to treatment plan on an off-site basis.
• Ensures client's attendance to initial medication evaluation and subsequent medication appointments.
• Supports medical records' staff in securing PCP referral in a timely manner.
• Schedules QBHP Supervision and Observations as outlined by company policy.
• Documents all QBHP Supervision and Observation in EHR to be reviewed and signed by assigned MHP.
• Establishes positive relationship with client, family, and their support network.
• Models stability for client and family with regular sessions.
• Empower client to improve day to day functionality, reducing stressors and increasing ability to focus on treatment goals.
• Encourages client compliance with the established treatment plan.
• Monitors/reports client behavior in all environments.
• Attends all required clinic meetings.
• Testifies in court as required.
• Other duties as assigned.

Eligible clinical team members may qualify for federal loan repayment programs through HRSA, including the National Health Service Corps Loan Repayment Program and the Nurse Corps Loan Repayment Program. Eligibility and award approval are determined by HRSA based on role, location, discipline, and program requirements.

Pay & Schedule

Full-time (Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM). Arcare offers competitive pay.
