About the role
The Qualified Behavior Interventionist plays a crucial role in supporting students, teachers, and administrators through evidence-based behavioral practices. This position involves direct and indirect support, coaching, and collaboration to enhance student behavior and well-being.
Responsibilities
- Modeling of evidenced-based behavior supports while working directly with students.
- Coaching, consulting, and collaborating with staff and building administrator(s) on evidenced-based positive behavior supports.
- Aids in identifying, acquiring, and organizing available resources for students and staff.
- Collects, analyzes, and utilizes behavioral data to drive positive behavioral changes.
- Collaborates with Child Study Team Members and classroom teachers as part of the Individual Problem-Solving Process.
- Identifies behavioral escalation and implements effective de-escalation strategies.
- Works to minimize student exclusionary discipline by providing targeted interventions for students with high behavioral needs.
- Maintains staff fidelity to Behavior Intervention Plans and observes interventions for procedural accuracy.
Requirements
- Background knowledge and experience in teaching students.
- Familiarity with District standards and assessments.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.

- Ability to prioritize and organize tasks.

- Ability to work calmly and efficiently under deadlines.
- Positive and cooperative interactions with colleagues and students.
Qualifications
- Kansas Teaching license, School Counseling License, or Social Work accreditation.
- 3 to 5 years of teaching experience preferred.
- Valid Kansas Driver's License required.
- Bachelor's Degree required.
