Qualifications

Education, Training and Experience (including licensure and certification):

  • Must have a bachelor’s degree in psychology, social work, or related field from a four-year college or university.
  • Master’s degree in counseling, sociology, human growth and development, psychology, or nursing and licensure in the behavioral health field (LPC, LCSW, LMFT) preferred.
  • Must have at least 1 year of related work experience in the behavioral health field.
  • Experience in behavioral health community outreach or education preferred.
  • Experience in marketing or customer service in the medical or behavioral health field preferred.
  • Experience in public speaking and presentations preferred.
  • Certified Youth and Adult MHFA Instructor preferred.
  • Ability to acquire and maintain certification including additional modules in MHFA curriculum (Adult/Youth/Teen).

Knowledge, Skills And Abilities:

  • Knowledge of childhood development and mental health diagnoses affecting individuals.
  • Knowledge of mental health and emotional components.
  • Knowledge of trauma-informed care including cultural sensitivity and person-centered principles in all areas of service delivery and the ability to implement trauma-informed practices within scope of work.
  • Knowledge of the social services and educational systems.
  • Knowledge of community resources.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff, other agencies, communities served, and the educational system using tact, courtesy, and good judgment.
  • Ability to communicate efficiently, write clearly and professionally, and read and interpret documents and data.
  • Ability to think clearly and logically to effectively handle potentially aggressive behaviors and emotional disturbances in a positive manner.
  • Ability and skills to utilize logic and reason to identify strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems.
  • Ability to work well independently and collaboratively within a comprehensive treatment team.
  • Ability to proficiently utilize the computer including Microsoft Office to effectively and efficiently complete assigned tasks;
  • Ability to demonstrate high ethical standards, trustworthiness, and personal integrity.
