About the role

The Quality & EHS Intern supports Quality Assurance and Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) activities within a manufacturing environment. The role assists with quality system processes, audits, investigations, safety programs, and continuous improvement initiatives. Working closely with cross-functional teams, the intern contributes to maintaining compliance with quality and EHS requirements while gaining practical experience in manufacturing operations and process improvement.

Responsibilities

  • Support implementation and follow-up of EHS programs, procedures, and initiatives.
  • Aid in conducting safety inspections, risk assessments, and hazard identification activities.
  • Track safety observations, incidents, near misses, and corrective actions.
  • Coordinate training and communicate EHS activities.
  • Participate in environmental and workplace safety improvement projects.
  • Maintain compliance with internal EHS standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Promote a safe working environment and support safety culture initiatives.
  • Support daily quality operations and follow-up on quality issues on the production floor.
  • Collect, analyze, and report on quality KPIs (scrap, defects, complaints, rework, etc.).
  • Participate in root cause analysis and corrective action activities using problem-solving methodologies.
  • Assist in updating documentation including work instructions, procedures, inspection standards, and quality records.
  • Support audits, layered process confirmations, and quality inspections.
  • Monitor compliance with company quality standards and procedures.
  • Engage in continuous improvement initiatives focused on defect reduction and process stability.
  • Provide administrative, mentorship, and operational support to the Quality Team.
  • Support training and onboarding of QEHS team members related to standard work execution and expectations.

Requirements

Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree, certificate, or coursework in Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, Quality Management, Industrial Technology, Manufacturing, Business, or a related field. Minimum 1 year of experience in professional work environment, preferably in a manufacturing, Quality, or EHS-related role. Exposure to ISO standards, auditing or safety programs.
