QC Technician

ZING is seeking a detail-oriented QC Technician to join a growing quality team in Norwood, NJ. This is a great opportunity for a laboratory professional who enjoys hands-on testing, problem-solving, and ensuring products meet quality standards before they reach customers. Experience in fragrance, flavor, cosmetics, personal care, specialty chemicals, or consumer products is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Test incoming raw materials and finished products to ensure they meet specifications
• Perform laboratory testing including Specific Gravity, Refractive Index, Melting Point, and Gas Chromatography (GC)
• Conduct basic sensory and olfactive evaluations
• Generate Certificates of Analysis (COAs) and specification documentation
• Review and approve products for release
• Investigate out-of-specification materials and testing results
• Assist with customer complaints and quality investigations
• Maintain accurate QC laboratory records and documentation
• Follow established chemical handling and laboratory safety procedures
• Partner with Operations, Purchasing, Customer Service, and other internal teams
• Maintain an organized, clean, and efficient laboratory environment

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biology, or a related scientific field, or equivalent combination of education, training, and recent, relevant industry experience
• 1+ years of QC laboratory experience
• Experience testing raw materials and finished products
• Strong laboratory documentation and record-keeping skills
• Basic sensory or olfactive evaluation skills
• Experience handling chemicals and following laboratory safety procedures
• Familiarity with analytical laboratory equipment and testing methods
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work occasional Saturdays as needed

Preferred Experience

• QC laboratory experience within fragrance, flavor, cosmetic, or personal care manufacturing
• Experience with specialty chemicals or consumer products
• Gas Chromatography (GC), Specific Gravity, Refractive Index, Melting Point testing
• COA generation and product release testing
