About the role

We are looking for an experienced Quality Control Operator to review production PDF files for our trading card products across various brands under our professional sports and entertainment licenses. This role involves collaborating with internal teams in a fast-paced environment to ensure visual quality, verify printability, and adhere to licensor standards. The ideal candidate has a strong background in prepress and printing processes, is detail-oriented, proactive, and skilled in problem-solving. Experience with printing separations—including foils, opaque white, die cuts, and more—is essential. Strong communication skills are required to clearly articulate errors found in files. A keen eye for detail, proficiency in sports terminology, and awareness are important for success.

Responsibilities

• Perform final review of imposed trading card sheets for errors and omissions prior to release of files to press.
• Conduct quality checks on imposed digital proofs, verifying licensor and internal technical revisions and proactively addressing deviations.
• Operate digital platforms to review specifications, ensuring alignment with print specifications for each job.
• Review composed files of trading cards for file integrity, design consistency, quality, and technical set-up.
• Demonstrate proficiency operating projects in the Prinergy workflow system.
• Conduct master and digital imposition reviews, including thorough evaluation of file construction based on print technology, image and copy placement.
• Review individual cards for content accuracy and print specifications, verifying information and print specs by product subset.
• Work closely with prepress, product development, brand, and graphic design departments.

Requirements

• Proven experience (2+ years) in a similar pre-press/print production role.
• Exceptional attention to detail and problem-solving abilities, especially in addressing technical challenges/errors.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and flex across multiple tasks, deadlines, and priorities.
• Strong understanding of print production processes, color management, and pre-press techniques.
• Interest and knowledge in sports and entertainment.
• Working knowledge of Adobe Acrobat Pro, Prinergy, and ability to assimilate new digital platforms quickly.
