About the role
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced QC Lead to oversee daily quality control operations in a fast-paced production environment. This role is responsible for ensuring all quality processes, testing, and compliance activities are executed accurately and efficiently while promoting a culture of food safety and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee and coordinate daily quality control activities across all active production lines
- Ensure proper staffing of quality personnel and verify completion of required quality checks at specified intervals
- Validate product codes, prints, and ensure all documentation and records are accurate and complete
- Ensure proper handling of microbiological samples, paperwork, and timely laboratory testing
- Enforce GMPs (Good Manufacturing Practices) and food safety standards across operations
- Support calibration programs and perform in-house equipment calibration as needed
- Train, coach, and support team members while maintaining accountability for performance
- Aid with special projects, testing, and continuous improvement initiatives
- Maintain compliance with all safety, regulatory, and company standards
Leadership & Collaboration
- Lead by example to foster teamwork, accountability, and strong communication
- Cook with cross-functional teams to meet production, quality, and safety goals
- Escalate quality issues appropriately and support corrective actions
Qualifications
- A High School Diploma or GED is required
- At least 2+ years of quality experience or prior leadership experience in a manufacturing or lab environment is required
- Laboratory experience is required; internal candidates must hold current certification
- A strong understanding of microbiology practices, laboratory testing, and GMPs is required
- The ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities is essential
Skills & Competencies
- Strong organizational and documentation skills are necessary
- Effective communication and problem-solving abilities are required
- Proficiency with computer systems and data entry programs is important
- The ability to delegate tasks, manage time, and lead a team effectively is crucial
- A knowledge of microbiological and analytical lab processes is beneficial
