Position Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented Laboratory Technician to perform analytical testing on tungsten and tungsten carbide products. This role is responsible for conducting quality control testing, qualifying raw materials and finished products, supporting research and development activities, and ensuring all products meet established specifications. The ideal candidate is organized, technically proficient, and thrives in a fast-paced laboratory environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform analytical testing and product qualification using a variety of laboratory equipment and instrumentation.
- C Conduct quality control testing on raw materials, in-process materials, and finished powders to ensure compliance with product specifications.
- Support Research & Development projects by testing new materials and documenting results.
- Follow established laboratory procedures, test methods, and quality standards.
- Accurately record, maintain, and report test data.
- Maintain laboratory equipment and ensure proper operation according to established procedures.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Laboratory Equipment & Instrumentation
- Analytical balances
- Microscope imaging systems
- Atomic Absorption (AA), X-Ray Fluorescence (XRF), and Direct Current Plasma (DCP) spectrometers
- Sedigraph and Malvern particle size distribution analyzers
- Physical testing apparatus
- Carbon, Sulfur, Oxygen, and Nitrogen analysis instrumentation
- Microwave digestion system
- Computer systems, laboratory software, and Microsoft Office applications
Qualifications
- Required Skills & Knowledge:
- Knowledge of laboratory measuring and testing techniques.
- Strong mathematical and analytical skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and general computer software.
- Ability to read and interpret technical documents, procedures, and specifications.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced manufacturing laboratory environment.
- Experience:
- Minimum of one (1) year of experience in an industrial laboratory environment strongly preferred.
- Experience in metallurgy or materials testing is a plus.
- Education:
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- High school coursework in chemistry and algebra required.
- College-level chemistry, physical science, or additional mathematics coursework preferred.
