Responsibilities
- Perform inspections using engineering drawings, route cards, inspection travelers, work instructions, technical specifications, and quality procedures.
- Conduct preliminary, progressive, and final inspections of aircraft structures, systems, sub-assemblies, and major assemblies.
- Verify functional operation of systems and components.
- Inspect for Foreign Object Debris (FOD) and ensure proper documentation is completed.
- Witness, verify, and document critical manufacturing process steps.
- Perform conformity and first article inspections to ensure compliance with FAA-approved procedures and design requirements.
- Review and validate production paperwork for completeness and accuracy.
- Provide technical guidance and quality support to manufacturing personnel.
- Conduct area audits and inspections to ensure compliance with standards and specifications.
- Ensure proper use, maintenance, and storage of tools and equipment.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives focused on quality, efficiency, and operational excellence.
- Promote a culture of safety and accountability.
- Identify workplace hazards and recommend corrective actions.
- Participate in safety investigations and risk reduction activities.
- Support product safety initiatives and compliance programs.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Minimum of 1 year of quality inspection experience or 2 years of manufacturing experience.
- Ability to complete a Formal Inspection Training Program within 90 days of hire.
- Working knowledge of blueprint reading and interpretation, engineering drawings, and technical documentation.
- Basic understanding of shop mathematics.
- Competency with standard shop tools and manufacturing equipment.
- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality standards.
Preferred Qualifications
- 2+ years of manufacturing experience.
- Aerospace manufacturing or inspection experience.
- Familiarity with CATIA or similar engineering software.
- Experience performing first article, conformity, or FAA-regulated inspections.
- Knowledge of aircraft structures, systems, composites, or assembly processes.
- Experience working within AS9100, FAA, or other aerospace quality environments.
Pay
$32.19 per hour
