Quality Control Line Inspector responsible for performing in-process inspections on manufacturing and packaging lines to ensure cosmetic and OTC drug products comply with current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP), internal quality standards, and regulatory requirements, including 21 CFR Parts 210 and 211.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine inspections of filling, labeling, and packaging lines.
  • Verify line clearance prior to start-up.
  • Inspect fill levels, container integrity, labeling accuracy, and coding.
  • Identify and report defects such as leaks, mislabels, or contamination.
  • Ensure adherence to cGMP (21 CFR 210/211) and SOPs.
  • Complete inspection logs, batch records, and deviation reports.
  • Escalate non-conformances and support investigations.
  • Conduct line clearance during changeovers.
  • Verify correct components (labels, cartons, containers).
  • Confirm reconciliation of materials.
  • Collect in-process samples per sampling plans.
  • Perform visual and basic inspection checks.
  • Submit samples to QC lab when required.
  • Ensure documentation meets GDP (ALCOA+) standards.
  • Identify discrepancies during production.
  • Work cross-functionally with Production, QA, and Warehouse.
  • Support audits (internal, customer, FDA).

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required; Associate degree preferred.
  • 1–3 years in cosmetic or OTC manufacturing.
  • Experience in FDA-regulated environments preferred.
  • Familiarity with 21 CFR Parts 210 & 211.
  • Understanding of cGMP and documentation practices.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Effective communication and escalation skills.
  • Basic math and inspection skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Physical Requirements

  • Prolonged standing.
  • Visual inspection capability.
  • Ability to lift up to 25–50 lbs.

Work Environment

  • Manufacturing floor with PPE requirements.
  • May require shift work, weekends, or overtime.

Pay

$22.00 to $23.00 per hour.
