QC Chemist

About the role

We are seeking a QC Chemist with a strong experience in chemistry. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in a wet chemistry lab, even if it is from academic settings, and should be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment. The role involves a combination of independent lab work and team collaboration. The work environment is supportive and team-oriented, with music playing in the lab and a friendly atmosphere among lab technicians. The dress code requires lab workwear, including lab coats (provided), closed-toe shoes, and no exposed ankles. This is a Contract position based out of Gurnee, IL.

Responsibilities

• Conduct wet testing, physical testing, and pH testing on various substances.
• Operate and maintain laboratory instrumentation including GC machines, automated titrations, hooded reflux reactions, NIR, and KF water testing.
• Collaborate with the quality control department and other teams approximately 1-2 times per month.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or a related scientific field.
• Experience in wet chemistry labs, including school experience.
• Proficiency with laboratory instrumentation such as gas chromatography (GC).

Skills

• Experience in analytical chemistry and GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices).
• Strong team player mindset with the ability to work independently.

Pay

$28.00 per hour

Schedule

Rotating schedule of 4x10 hour shifts, with shifts rotating every eight weeks.
