Position Summary

The Quality Cost Control Auditor is responsible for ensuring inventory accuracy and operational excellence throughout the distribution center. This position plays a critical role in maintaining inventory integrity by performing detailed audits, identifying discrepancies, and partnering with operational departments to resolve issues that impact productivity, customer service, and cost control. The auditor supports multiple warehouse functions and serves as a backup for key operational roles as needed.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Accurately scan and physically count case quantities in pick-face locations to ensure inventory accuracy.
  • Scan and count inbound license plates in reserve storage locations.
  • Perform routine audits of pick faces, reserve locations, and empty locations to verify proper inventory placement and storage utilization.
  • Investigate inventory discrepancies and work collaboratively with Receiving, Shipping, Equipment, Order Picking, and other operational departments to determine root causes and implement corrective actions.
  • Conduct quality and cost control audits across warehouse operations to ensure compliance with company standards and procedures.
  • Verify that inventory is stored in the correct locations and accurately reflected in the Warehouse Management System (WMS).
  • Pull cases from storage locations when necessary to complete inventory verification or resolve discrepancies.
  • Assist with maintaining inventory integrity by identifying process improvement opportunities that reduce inventory errors and operational costs.
  • Serve as a backup to the Allocations Office, supporting inventory allocation and workflow management.
  • Serve as a backup to the Slotter, assisting with slotting optimization to improve warehouse efficiency.
  • Maintain accurate audit documentation and communicate findings to leadership in a timely manner.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives by promoting inventory accuracy, operational efficiency, and quality standards.

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Previous warehouse, inventory control, auditing, or distribution center experience preferred.
  • Experience operating material handling equipment or the ability to become certified.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, and Word).
  • Ability to quickly learn and effectively utilize a Warehouse Management System (WMS).
  • Positive attitude with the ability to work as a collaborative team player in a fast-paced environment.

Equipment Requirements

  • Ability to safely operate a manual and/or electric pallet jack.
  • Ability to safely operate a cherry picker (order picker) and maintain required certifications.
  • Ability to use RF scanners and other warehouse technology.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, and lift throughout the workday.
  • Ability to lift and move cases within company guidelines.
  • Ability to work at varying heights while operating a cherry picker.
  • Ability to work in a warehouse environment with changing temperatures and frequent movement.
