QA Technician- Night Shift -6p-6:30a
Night shift position: 6:00 PM – 6:30 AM
About the role
Monitors all quality assurance and food safety activities, makes recommendations, and carries out corrections to improve Quality departmental functions. Requires knowledge of food quality standards and procedures, strong attention to detail, communication skills, and logical thinking. Tests and inspects products at various stages of the production process, compiles and evaluates statistical data to ensure and maintain product quality and reliability.
Responsibilities
- Perform related duties and provide support to Quality Assurance Management.
- Contribute information and analysis to strategic plans and reviews; prepare and complete action plans; implement production, productivity, quality, and customer-service standards; identify and resolve problems; complete audits; determine system improvements; implement change.
- Enhance department and organization reputation by accepting ownership for new and different requests; explore opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
- Perform tests at specified stages in the production process (e.g., temperature, defects, code dates); record results, review records, and report for accuracy and completion.
- Evaluate data and write reports to validate or indicate deviations from existing standards.
- Recommend modifications of existing quality or production standards to achieve optimum quality within equipment capability limits.
- Complete special projects; work with the project team; examine and evaluate data to select corrective steps.
- Conduct quality analysis of incoming dry goods for production.
- Verify specifications before startup and throughout production processes.
- Problem-solve on quality issues with production and other teams.
- Document key metrics for data analysis.
- Maintain calibration and logs of all laboratory instruments.
- Prepare laboratory equipment and solutions.
- Communicate directly with operators and production personnel.
- Perform general analysis and sampling of production samples.
- Collect retention samples on a shiftly basis.
Requirements
- 1+ years of experience in a Quality Assurance or Food Safety role within a manufacturing facility.
Skills
- Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret quality documents, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups.
- Mathematical Skills: Ability to apply mathematical operations and concepts to solve quality process-related problems.
