About the Role
The QC Lead ensures the facility meets all food safety and cleanliness standards, splitting time between technical quality control testing and verifying sanitation practices to prevent product contamination.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine quality checks alongside the Production Manager (“Golden Case” and Label Verification) and document results.
- Release product to the Filling Line and complete pH logs.
- Maintain the Retention Sample Program.
- Conduct facility start-up inspections of metal blades, brittle plastics, equipment calibrations, and equipment operations (machinery, refrigerators, etc.).
- Verify sanitation against the Master Sanitation Schedule; ensure all equipment is disassembled, cleaned, and reassembled according to SOPs.
- Execute the Allergen Swab protocol as needed between products to ensure cleaning was effective for allergen protein removal and prevent cross-contact.
- Identify out-of-spec products or ingredients and manage the "Hold" and "Release" process under the guidance of the Production Manager.
- Manage the inventory and safe handling of cleaning chemicals and sanitizers.
- Identify areas of improvement within job duties and provide a “solution-first” mindset to achieve desired outcomes.
- Perform additional duties as needed by the Production Manager to support daily operational excellence.
Requirements
- Experience in Quality Control, Food Safety, or industrial sanitation.
- Knowledge of GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) and HACCP standards.
- Strong record-keeping skills and attention to technical details.
- Fluent in English (speaking, reading, and writing).
Pay
$18.00 - $21.00 per hour
