About the role
The Quality Assurance Technician contributes to the retailer's overall program objectives by managing and implementing quality assurance practices including product monitoring and evaluation, customer feedback programs, and supplier standards.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the timely evaluations of products (organoleptic, chemical, physical, microbiological)
- Conduct submission of formal regulatory applications in support of the private brands program to ensure retailer compliance
- Manage relationships with retailer cross-functional teams, customers, and manufacturers
- Regularly review and provide adjustments to current processes and procedures to maximize efficiencies
Requirements
- Proven experience in quality assurance and product evaluation
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements and industry standards
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., food science, quality control, etc.)
- Experience in a similar role within the retail or food manufacturing sector
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
Skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Knowledge of quality management systems (e.g., ISO 9001)
- Ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends
