The primary responsibility of this position is to ensure raw product meets specification prior to being processed for its assigned use.

Monitor and document HACCP and SSOPs.
Monitor and document GMPs.
Calibrate scales daily.
Conduct appropriate quality checks and rechecks as specified by the type of raw product.
Perform metal detector checks to identify foreign material.
Perform verification on finished product, packaging and labeling.
Calculate ratios and defects percentages.
Communicate with supervisors upon discovery of out-of-specification products, and follow established procedure for handling out-of-specification products.
Perform other related duties as assigned to support production demands.

Less than high school education; or up to one month related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Basic math and computer skills required.
Must pass a math test.

All employees are required to attend employee and safety orientation prior to performing duties.
Training on basic principles of HACCP, SSOP, and GMP.
Supervisor-led workplace orientation, including introduction to employees, work assignments, and ingress/egress procedures.
A training buddy may be assigned to assist new employees.
Probationary period to evaluate employee effectiveness and performance.

Regularly required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, and reach with hands and arms.
Frequently required to talk or hear, and climb or stoop.
Occasionally required to sit.
Must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
Specific vision abilities required include close vision, color vision, and depth perception.

Regularly exposed to cold, wet, and/or humid conditions and moving mechanical parts.
Occasionally exposed to risk of electrical shock and vibration.
Noise level in the work environment is usually very loud.
