QA Technician

About the Role

Monitors all quality assurance and food safety activities, making recommendations and carrying out corrections to improve Quality departmental functions. This role requires knowledge of food quality standards and procedures, strong attention to detail, communication skills, and logical thinking.

Tests and inspects products at various stages of the production process, compiles and evaluates statistical data to determine and maintain quality and reliability of products.

Responsibilities

• Perform related duties and provide support to Quality Assurance Management.
• Achieve quality assurance operational objectives by contributing to strategic plans and reviews, preparing action plans, implementing standards, identifying problems, completing audits, and determining system improvements.
• Enhance department and organization reputation by accepting ownership for new requests and exploring opportunities to add value.
• Perform tests at specified production stages (e.g., temperature, defects, code dates), record results, review records, and report findings.
• Evaluate data and write reports to validate or indicate deviations from existing standards.
• Recommend modifications to quality or production standards to achieve optimum quality within equipment limits.
• Complete special projects, work with project teams, and resolve problems by examining data and selecting corrective steps.
• Conduct quality analysis of incoming dry goods for production.
• Verify specifications before startup and throughout production processes.
• Problem-solve quality issues with production and other teams.
• Document key metrics for data analysis.
• Maintain calibration and logs of all laboratory instruments.
• Prepare laboratory equipment and solutions.
• Communicate directly with operators and production personnel.
• Perform general analysis and sampling of production samples.
• Collect retention samples on a shiftly basis.

Requirements

• 1+ years of experience in a Quality Assurance or Food Safety role within a manufacturing facility.

Skills

• Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret quality documents, safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups.
• Mathematical Skills: Ability to apply mathematical operations and concepts to solve quality process-related problems.
