QA Technician

Location: Irving, TX | Shift: 3rd Shift | Employment Type: Full-time | Classification: Hourly Non-exempt

About the role

Conducts product sampling as well as chemical, microbiological, and physical testing. Supports production demands and communicates deviations from process or specification to management.

Responsibilities

• Perform product sampling and chemical, microbiological, and physical testing
• Complete all required paperwork and database entries accurately and timely
• Communicate deviations from process or specification to direct report
• Place product on Hold and complete Hold Tag process accurately and timely
• Communicate concerns regarding production safety and employee relations to management
• Maintain and clean assigned tools
• Complete all Brakebush Irving, Inc. training programs (quality and food safety)
• Perform other related duties as assigned to support production demands

Requirements

• Basic comprehension of speaking, reading, and writing in English
• Ability to write neatly and clearly on all paperwork
• Basic computer operation skills
• Basic mathematical skills (addition, subtraction, percentages, multiplication, division)
• Basic understanding of quality control (acceptable vs. unacceptable)
• Positive attitude and teamwork skills
• Ability to stand and walk up to 8 hours per day
• Ability to frequently bend, lift, and twist
• Availability to work overtime as required
• Successful completion of pre-employment physical and drug test
• Successful completion of background check

Education

High school diploma or equivalent.

Experience

Entry-level.

Working Conditions

High noise, varied temperatures (warm to cold), slippery floors, moving equipment, and dust may be present. Personal protective equipment required as necessary.
