Assist the QA/FS Team and Management with general tasks involving quality and food safety programs, including document reviews, trainings, filing, pest control, customer complaints, thermometer calibrations, and more.
Responsibilities
- Follow biosecurity practices on all company sites
- Review departmental documents and records; provide feedback to supervisors and managers (e.g., pest control, flats washer, lubrication logs, sanitation, chemical logs, locker inspections, water usages)
- Enter company water usages and report (flocks, processing plants, etc.)
- Assist with employee training and training records
- Prepare, ship, and record environmental swabs
- Perform pest control inspections and document reviews
- Track and submit EB samples
- Conduct yolk color analysis and recording for EB eggs
- Track farm status for CF, American Humane, and Certified Humane certifications
- Perform tanker solids analysis; record and distribute results
- Conduct facility and housekeeping inspections
- Perform 100 egg inspections at all sites as needed (nest runs and finished goods), including cooler sample inspections and recording in group files
- Enter data into computer spreadsheets
- Review and verify food safety records for accuracy and completion
- Provide feedback to site Managers regarding 100 egg evaluation results
- Perform equipment calibrations (e.g., thermometers, pH sensors)
- Learn and apply HACCP, Quality Code, and Fraud Program for all processing departments
- Ensure principles of these programs are utilized in respective areas and departments
- Assist with Feed Mill Toxin analysis (e.g., Vomitoxin, Aflatoxin)
- Maintain professional communication with a variety of personnel
- Handle special assignments and other duties as assigned
- Backup for this position is QA/FS Technician II or higher
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Strong communication skills
- Completion of pre-requisites with a passing score from the certifying agency
- Completion of HACCP certification with a passing score

- Work in an office, processing, or production location
- Follow all company safety rules
- Ability to perform essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodations
- Ability to stoop, bend, climb, and lift at least up to 25 lbs routinely throughout the day
- Safety training in LMS completed
- Proper use of PPE
