QA Tech - Harvest

About the role

As a QA Tech - Harvest, you will perform in-process audits, monitor harvest operations, and ensure compliance with food safety and quality standards. This role involves active surveillance of food security and defense within the facility.

Responsibilities

• Complete in-process audits and additional audits as needed.
• Perform harvest monitoring sponges and check hand/knife chlorine spray systems for slaughter.
• Monitor employees at the start of shifts for sanitizing and clean equipment.
• Communicate mechanical problems to maintenance and deficiencies to supervisors or lead employees.
• Write work orders when necessary.
• Monitor cleanliness of the production area.
• Ensure all Food Safety, SQF, and Safety policies are followed.
• Verify all employees wear proper PPE specific to their job areas.
• Conduct active Food Security and Defense surveillance inside the facility.

Requirements

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Must be able to work in the United States without sponsorship.
• Must be able to effectively communicate in English (speak, read, and write).
• Must be able to work in varied temperatures (warm, hot, humid, cold, wet) and slippery surfaces at different heights around moving equipment, with the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Must be able to perform job duties with or without reasonable accommodations.
• Ability to work extended scheduled hours Monday through Saturday, including daily overtime as required.
• Start times and hours vary based on production needs.
• Must successfully complete training in:
  • Safety
  • Safe Quality Food (SQF)
  • Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs)
  • Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP)
  • Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
  • Food defense

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior quality assurance experience.
• Prior production experience in a USDA-inspected beef, pork, or poultry facility.
• Work history in the last 12 months.
• Ability to effectively communicate in Spanish (speak, read, and write).

• Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to interact across leadership and production staff.
