We are a growing underground utility contractor seeking a QA/QC Specialist to support quality assurance and quality control efforts across water, wastewater, storm drainage, and utility infrastructure projects.
Responsibilities
- Perform field inspections of underground utility construction activities to verify compliance with project plans, specifications, testing requirements, and industry standards.
- Review project documents and confirm that materials, installation methods, compaction, testing procedures, and completed work meet required project standards.
- Accurately document inspections, deficiencies, test results, corrective actions, and other quality-related records.
- Partner with project managers, superintendents, foremen, subcontractors, engineers, inspectors, owners, and testing agencies to address quality concerns and ensure corrective actions are completed.
- Assist with the development and implementation of quality control plans, inspection checklists, punch list activities, and project closeout documentation.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements that enhance quality, consistency, and project execution.
- Travel to project sites throughout the region and support quality initiatives across multiple active projects.
- Maintain compliance with all safety policies, procedures, and jobsite requirements.
Requirements
- 3-5 years of experience in QA/QC, construction inspection, field supervision, or a related role within underground utility construction.
- Strong knowledge of water, sanitary sewer, storm drainage, trenching, bedding, backfill, compaction, testing, and underground utility installation practices.
- Ability to read and interpret construction plans, specifications, technical standards, and project documentation.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate across field operations, project management, engineering, and client teams.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and electronic construction documentation platforms.
- Ability and willingness to travel, including occasional overnight stays as project needs require.
- Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
- Industry certifications related to construction inspection, quality control, or underground utilities are a plus.
