About the role

This role is responsible for the implementation and management of Bureau Veritas Primary Integration's (BVPI) Quality Control Program at client sites. The QA/QC Manager coordinates, performs, and executes construction inspections and testing services to ensure successful delivery of commissioning and turn-over for clients in the Hyperscale Data Center Market. The role involves working with QA/QC professionals across MEP trade disciplines, General Contractor, and Owner QAQC Leadership to create and support a Quality Culture through tact, teamwork, and transformational leadership.

Responsibilities

  • On-site Quality Assurance / Quality Control for assigned construction projects
  • Witnessing and reviewing site inspections
  • Ensuring general contractor and MEP contractors comply with contractual and owner quality requirements
  • Familiarizing oneself with codes, local project regulations, construction practices, and the latest equipment and functional concepts
  • Coordinating quality issues between the design team, construction, and facility operations teams
  • Providing personnel training to ensure awareness of quality procedures and specific responsibilities in the QA/QC process
  • Driving issue closure in client software and escalating outstanding open items
  • Actively participating in construction meetings
  • Producing detailed documentation using client software such as BIM360, Compass, and CX Alloy
  • Ensuring inspection reports are accurate and all attached documents are current
  • Resolving conflicts with tact and professionalism
  • Reviewing inspection reports for compliance
  • Assisting site stakeholders in the administration and oversight of the quality control program
  • Preparing non-conformance reports and assisting in developing corrective actions
  • Coordinating with End User QC inspectors for resolution of site problems
  • Coordinating with site subcontractors to deliver quality expectations
  • Assisting site subcontractors in the resolution of drawing interpretation
  • Attending required meetings
  • Reviewing submittals, RFI logs, maintenance logs, and other project-related materials to confirm acceptability to quality and design
  • Assisting in closeout documentation preparation
  • Supporting the CM team in managing schedule and quality expectations
  • Keeping all relevant parties informed via standardized communication protocols and tracking documents
  • Training and coaching junior associates to promote growth in the organization

Significant travel required for this role - 70% (rotating two weeks on project site and one weekend home).

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree (B.A./B.S.) from a four-year college or university; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Valid Driver's License
  • Ability to obtain the following certifications upon hire: CPR and/or basic First Aid, OSHA 30, NFPA70E

Skills

  • Language Ability: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical procedures and regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions.
  • Math Ability: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
  • Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Computer Skills: Proficiency in Deltek and Microsoft Office 365.
  • Knowledge, Skills, and Other Abilities: Strong technical writing and communication skills (both oral and written), time management skills.

Schedule

This position may entail working more than 8 hours a day and potentially working on Saturday or Sunday depending on project assignments.
