Responsibilities
- Cook up, oversee, and manage all facets of the Quality Control program.
- Coordinate, document, and track preliminary, initial, and follow-up inspections.
- Plan and schedule weekly QC meetings with the superintendent and prepare written reports as outlined.
- Create and deliver daily QC reports highlighting activities adhering to each project's established standards.
- Regularly update executive management with recommendations for addressing subpar performance and tracking progress towards quality goals.
- Direct and support all quality teams on-site, including Project Managers, Superintendents, and external personnel.
- Identify applicable standards and procedures for specific tasks and communicate enterprise-wide best practices, lessons learned, recent events, and training opportunities.
- Oversee and implement Quality Programs on projects, focusing on core initiatives such as Site Specific Quality Plans, policies, and procedures, ensuring all materials received are compliant with approved submittals, stored appropriately, and suitable for the project.
- Participate in pre-construction meetings with new and existing subcontractors and the superintendent before the commencement of each new work phase to address quality-related concerns.
- Monitor and document testing and commissioning of building systems, review results, and submit necessary documentation.
- Collaborate with the project team to ensure compliance with the site-specific safety plan and conduct safety inspections and audits as per company practices.
- Show proficiency in maintaining and documenting adherence to the established quality plan, monitoring and resolving quality plan deficiencies, and ensuring accurate subcontractor work.
- Stay abreast of inspection requirements by city, county, and state to secure Technical Certification of Compliance (TCO) and Certificate of Compliance (CO).
Requirements
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Engineering, Industrial Technology, Construction Management, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
- At least 5 years of progressively responsible experience in construction, showcasing increasing expertise.
- Proficiency in using software like Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail.
- Ability to navigate job sites, climb ladders, and carry up to 50 lbs.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Engineering, Industrial Technology, Construction Management, or related degree, or relevant work experience considered in lieu of education.
Skills
- Skilled at maintaining and documenting conformance to developed quality plans.
- Able to monitor and manage deficiencies to quality plans and work towards completion.
- Understands and monitors testing and inspection processes, maintaining positive relationships with regulatory bodies.
- Able to identify the accuracy of subcontractor work.
- Knowledgeable about inspection requirements by city, county, and state to obtain TCO & CO qualifications.
