QA-QC Engineer
About the role
Linde Engineering North America LLC is seeking a QA-QC Engineer to join our team in Blue Bell, PA. This role oversees and supports the procurement process of piping, equipment, and package units, ensuring compliance with project and code requirements. Key responsibilities include project monitoring, cost control, reporting, reviewing vendor procedures, developing and updating quality assurance documentation, managing quality issues, communicating lessons learned, interpreting codes, collaborating with materials engineers, leading supplier inspections, and providing technical support during inspections.
Responsibilities
- Oversee and support procurement process of piping, equipment, and package units
- Prepare and provide project monitoring, cost control, and reporting for QA/QC discipline
- Review vendor welding, testing, and NDE procedures
- Develop, review, and update quality assurance documentation
- Interpret code issues for design, fabrication, inspection, and testing of piping, pressure vessels, and welding
- Lead supplier inspection process and develop Project Inspection Plans
- Coordinate external inspection resources
- Communicate lessons learned of QA/QC non-conformities to Engineering
- Collaborate with Materials Technology and Codes Engineer on material changes
- Provide technical support during Inspection visits
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Metallurgical, or Welding Engineering, or equivalent experience
- Minimum of ten years of experience in Petrochemicals / Industrial Gases in QA/QC application, or any comparable related work experience
- Extensive knowledge and experience in design, fabrication, inspection, and testing of international Codes and Standards, particularly ASME, ASTM, API, ASNT
- Knowledge of NDE/NDT, QA/QC process standards and techniques
- Knowledge of welding and metallurgy; AWS CWI endorsement preferred
- Current or previous certification in NDE level II (VT, PT, MT, UT, RT) and/or API certifications (510, 570, SIFE, SIRE)
- Working knowledge of fabrication, construction, and assembly of plant components; and fired capital equipment
- Cost responsibility and basic knowledge about bid verification
Qualifications
