About the role
We are seeking an experienced QA Lead / Software Test Manager to lead the quality assurance strategy, planning, execution, and governance for a large-scale Electronic Health Record (EHR) SaaS implementation.
Responsibilities
- Lead the overall QA strategy, testing approach, planning, execution, governance, and resource management.
- Develop and maintain test plans, test schedules, test cases, traceability matrices, and test evidence.
- Serve as the primary QA contact for program leadership, IT teams, vendors, business users, and clinical stakeholders.
- Provide regular reporting on testing progress, risks, defects, quality metrics, and readiness.
- Lead defect management, prioritization, triage, retesting, and final validation.
- Lead data migration and conversion testing from legacy EHR and ancillary systems.
- Validate patient, clinical, pharmacy, billing, and historical data for accuracy, completeness, integrity, and reconciliation.
- Review and test ETL processes, data mapping, validation rules, reconciliation reports, and exception reports.
- Perform pre-load and post-load validation, record counts, field-level verification, and data reconciliation.
- Coordinate testing of interfaces, inbound/outbound data feeds, integrations, and downstream reporting.
- Lead functional testing across EHR modules including clinical, scheduling, orders, medications, documentation, and billing.
- Validate end-to-end workflows across clinicians, nurses, pharmacy, registration, and administrative users.
- Lead system, integration, regression, and UAT testing activities.
- Ensure SaaS configuration changes and vendor releases are fully tested before deployment.
- Partner with business and clinical SMEs to develop UAT scenarios, test cases, and acceptance criteria.
- Support UAT execution, defect triage, business sign-off, and deployment readiness.
- Track test execution and defects using tools such as Azure DevOps, ALM, and Jira.
- Support manual and automated testing approaches as applicable.
- Coordinate testing activities across vendors and multidisciplinary teams.
- Ensure QA documentation meets audit, regulatory, compliance, and project delivery standards.
Qualifications
- 11+ years of experience in QA Lead, Test Lead, QA Manager, or Test Manager roles.
- 11+ years of hands-on experience with data validation, data migration, and ETL testing.
- 11+ years of experience leading functional testing for EHR or healthcare SaaS platforms.
- 11+ years of experience testing EHR modules including clinical, scheduling, orders, medications, documentation, and billing.
- 11+ years of experience validating end-to-end clinical and administrative workflows.
- 11+ years of experience leading data migration and conversion testing from legacy EHR and ancillary systems.
- 11+ years of experience validating patient, clinical, pharmacy, billing, and historical records.
- 11+ years of experience testing interfaces, inbound/outbound data feeds, integrations, and downstream reporting.
- 11+ years of experience creating and maintaining test plans, test cases, traceability matrices, and test evidence.
- 11+ years of experience coordinating testing with vendors and multidisciplinary teams.
- 11+ years of experience testing SaaS configuration changes and vendor releases.
- 11+ years of proficiency with Azure DevOps, ALM, Jira, or similar test management tools.
- 11+ years of experience working in Agile and/or hybrid delivery environments.
Preferred Qualifications
- 6+ years of experience supporting EHR implementations involving clinical, pharmacy, and billing workflows.
- 6+ years of knowledge of healthcare data standards such as HL7, FHIR, CCD/A, ICD, and CPT.
- 6+ years of understanding of HIPAA, healthcare privacy, security, and government compliance requirements.
- Experience supporting state or public-sector healthcare systems.
- Experience with both manual and automated testing methodologies.
- Strong leadership, communication, analytical, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.
Education
A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Healthcare Information Systems, or a related field is preferred.
