Location: Sandy, Utah (in-person at the AMEX office)
Responsibilities
- Analyze business and functional requirements to define comprehensive test strategies, scenarios, and test cases.
- Perform end-to-end functional, integration, regression, system, and user acceptance testing across banking applications.
- Educate and train the test automation team on what should be automated.
- Validate banking workflows, business rules, interfaces, APIs, and data integrity across FIS-enabled applications.
- Perform API testing using Postman, REST Assured, or similar tools.
- Execute manual and automated test cases, document results, and report defects using standard defect management tools (JIRA).
- Participate in CI/CD pipelines and support continuous testing initiatives.
- Partner with development teams to identify, troubleshoot, and resolve software defects in a timely manner.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, backlog refinement, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives.
- Perform root cause analysis for production issues and support release validation activities.
- Support compliance with banking regulations, security standards, and quality assurance best practices.
- Prepare test execution reports, defect metrics, and quality dashboards for daily status updates.
- Self-organize based on demanding priorities and provide ad-hoc test data requests when needed.
- Use Amex AI toolkits to further enhance and optimize the end-to-end test management lifecycle.
Requirements
- 8+ years of experience in software quality assurance.
- Proven work experience in software QA with strong knowledge of QA methodologies, tools, and processes.
- Hands-on experience with automated testing tools such as Karate and Cypress.
- Experience working with product and engineering stakeholders.
- Experience triggering testing in CI environments.
- Keen eye for detail and a commitment to excellence.
- Willingness to help teammates, share knowledge, and learn from others.
- Openness to receiving constructive feedback and turning it into process improvements.
Nice to Have
- Experience with WireMock, JMeter, Selenium, Jenkins, and Postman.
