QA Inspector I - Must Have QA/Inspection exp in life sciences & SAP
Location: San Diego, CA • 6-month contract • 40 hours/week • 1st shift • $20–25/hr
US Citizens, Green-Card holders, GC-EAD, OPT, EAD, or CPT only.
Work hours: initially 6:30 am–3:00 pm; flexible after training. Overtime available once training is complete.
About the role
Responsible for visual inspection of bottled products, components, and kits, ensuring vials have correct volume, proper label description, material number, batch number, and storage temperature. Review packaging batch records to confirm the correct Technical Data Sheet and any applicable inserts are attached. Oversee dilution, bottling, and packaging processes to ensure all finished products meet specifications before releasing to Finished Goods Inventory or Inventory Control. File QA retention samples in the QA Retention Sample inventory. Support external customers and internal teams including Operations, Packaging, Production Planning, Technical Product Managers, and Inventory Control.
Responsibilities
- QA inspection of bottled products and kits/sets
- SAP data entry
- Review and verify completion of batch records and release products to Finished Goods Inventory
- Review and verify raw material supplier documentation and release to inventory
- Assist in pulling and maintaining QA retains
- Scan completed relevant documents into the company archival system
- Perform temperature monitoring of QA freezers
- Generate monthly reports
- Perform other related duties and assignments as required
Requirements
- QA/Inspection work experience, especially in life sciences
- High School Diploma
- SAP experience
- Detailed-oriented, able to deal with ambiguity, and work both independently and as a team player with minimal supervision
- Fast learner with excellent communication skills
- Computer skills: Microsoft Word, Excel, email
- Organizational skills and ability to follow verbal and written instructions
- Able to lift 35 pounds
- Able to work in various temperature environments (room temperature, 4°C, -20°C, -80°C)
- Local travel required for inspections at different BD Biosciences – San Diego facilities
- Zero to three years of QA inspection experience

$20–25 per hour
