QA Inspector

SAFETY SENSITIVE POSITION

Performs final inspection of castings, marking the correct information on casting and necessary forms.

• Read process card for instructions.
• Lift castings for inspections (hoist may be used).
• Visually check inner and outer surfaces for any defect or imperfection; attention to detail is critical.
• Grind off small imperfections and use glazing putty when needed.
• Use digital caliper, Brinell hardness tester, Brinell scope, forklift and hoists.
• Record on permanent record all pertinent information from castings.
• Use forklift to move castings, pallets, etc.
• Have a working knowledge of fractions, basic computer functions and blueprints.
• Evaluate and mark areas for repair or to be scrapped.
• This position may be classified as a lead person which will perform job duties as assigned.
• Keep work area clean and orderly.
• Know safety rules that apply to the safety of others and to personal safety.
• Report malfunction of equipment to proper authority and non-conformances and concerns to proper authority.
• Perform other work as instructed by supervisor.
