About the Opportunity
The QA Engineering Manager will lead and advance quality assurance practices across a range of enterprise desktop and multi-tenant SaaS products. This role is responsible for establishing and executing an progressive quality strategy centered on end-to-end automation, scalable test frameworks, AI-assisted validation practices, and standardized testing lifecycles. The manager will provide leadership at both the strategic and operational levels to enhance overall product quality, accelerate release confidence, and foster a culture of continuous engineering improvement.
Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor, and structurally manage multi-disciplinary QA engineering teams, clearly defining team structures, performance metrics, and professional career development pathways
- Allocate engineering resources dynamically across parallel product lines in strict alignment with business priorities, sprint goals, and organizational release schedules
- Promote a pervasive culture of quality ownership, technical accountability, and open collaboration across distributed engineering groups
- Mentor internal team members in modern, shift-left QA methodologies, quantitative metrics, and advanced test design patterns
- Manage external contractor and vendor contributions to ensure architectural consistency and adherence to corporate testing standards
- Define, implement, and standardize scalable QA processes and key validation frameworks across disparate teams and software products
- Develop and scale long-term test automation strategies, focusing script development on high-value user paths, regression risk areas, and API layer coverage
- Set strict technical standards for automated test architecture, automation code quality, pull request (PR) reviews, and unified execution reporting
- Collaborate directly with Development and DevOps teams to integrate automated testing suites seamlessly into continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines
- Advocate fiercely for end-user and customer perspectives during initial design phases, refinement sessions, and final implementation
- Monitor, analyze, and optimize key quality indicators, including automation coverage percentages, escape defects, and historical bug trends
- Evaluate, prototype, and implement modern AI-assisted testing tools to enhance QA delivery efficiency and test case generation speed
- Establish clear engineering best practices, compliance policies, and rigorous quality gates for staging environments and production release readiness
Requirements
- Ten (10) to fifteen (15) years of progressive professional experience within Quality Assurance or Software Engineering, including at least five (5) years of dedicated experience leading and managing technical teams
- Demonstrated history managing quality verification for both on-premise desktop software and modern cloud-native SaaS solutions
- Comprehensive technical knowledge of functional, regression, RESTful API, UI automation, and comprehensive end-to-end release testing
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with a track record of translating complex technical risks to non-technical business leaders
- Direct hands-on experience integrating robust automation suites into modern continuous integration (CI/CD) deployment workflows
- Deep foundational understanding of Agile Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) models, sprint mechanics, and enterprise release management
- Proven ability to standardize, document, and enforce unified QA methodologies across cross-functional engineering teams
- Strong technical understanding of complex multi-server architectures, relational/non-relational databases, and containerized SaaS environments
- Extensive experience utilizing enterprise test case management repositories and issue tracking systems (such as Jira or specialized ALM tools)
- Able to coordinate application security testing, vulnerability scanning, and compliance tracking with specialized internal security teams
Preferred Qualifications
- Practical experience utilizing or evaluating AI-assisted QA tools, code generation plug-ins, and LLM-driven automation scripts
- Deep familiarity with modern source control workflows (Git/GitHub), branch management strategies, and multi-tenant cloud infrastructure
- Strong working knowledge of modern security principles, data encryption standards, and enterprise compliance architectures
Pay Range and Compensation Package
