About the role
Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts and frameworks to validate web and mobile applications, ensuring software quality and efficiency. Execute testing procedures to meet established quality standards, prepare data sets, isolate and reproduce defects, verify fixes, and document testing according to required procedures. Familiarity with the software development cycle and quality assurance methodologies is essential.
Responsibilities
- Create and maintain scalable, reusable automated test frameworks from scratch.
- Develop test cases and strategies based on requirements and specifications, including functional, regression, performance, and usability testing.
- Perform manual or automated tests to identify bugs and defects in the software.
- Document identified issues in a bug tracking system, providing detailed descriptions and steps to reproduce the problem.
- Communicate test results to development teams, highlighting critical issues and providing insights into software quality.
- Collaborate with developers to understand requirements, troubleshoot issues, and ensure timely bug fixes.
- Maintain and enforce quality standards and best practices throughout the development process.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Technology, Engineering, Communications, or related field preferred.
- 5+ years of experience in Software Quality Assurance; mobile experience a plus.
- Strong experience with frameworks like WebDriverIO or Appium and a deep understanding of the TypeScript/JavaScript ecosystem.
- Ability to identify potential issues and understand complex systems.
- Meticulous attention to detail in reviewing software functionality to catch even minor errors.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to identify root causes of defects and propose solutions.
- Knowledge of testing methodologies including automation, black-box, white-box, regression, performance, and usability testing.
- Understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC) and software testing life cycle (STLC).
- Basic programming skills, including the ability to write automated test scripts.
- Effective communication of test results and issues to developers and stakeholders.
- Strong project management skills with the ability to handle multiple projects under tight deadlines; proactive and highly organized.
- Ability to convey information clearly and engagingly to the target audience.
